Routr Legal
Terms of Service
Effective July 3, 2026
Rules for using Routr, including what we do and do not provide, and limits on our liability.
This is a general template for an early-stage product. It is not legal advice. Have a qualified attorney review and customize these documents for your business entity, jurisdiction, insurance, and regulatory obligations before relying on them.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Routr ("we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Routr website, apps, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. What the Service is — and is not
Routr is a travel planning and simulation assistant. We help you explore destinations, compare illustrative itineraries, view estimated routes and prices, and follow links to third-party booking partners.
We are not a travel agency, tour operator, airline, hotel, insurer, immigration consultant, or financial institution. We do not sell tickets, accommodations, packages, or insurance. We do not process payments, hold reservations, issue refunds, or provide customer support for bookings made with third parties.
Unless explicitly labeled as live partner inventory at checkout on a third-party site, displayed routes, prices, venues, and border requirements are planning simulations — not offers for sale and not real-time operational data.
Any booking you make is solely between you and the relevant third-party provider. Their terms, cancellation policies, and customer service apply.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have authority to enter into these Terms.
4. No professional advice
Content on the Service is for general planning and inspiration only. It is not legal, immigration, tax, medical, safety, or financial advice.
Visa, passport, and entry requirements shown on the Service are simplified estimates. Always confirm current rules with official government sources and your carrier before you travel.
You are solely responsible for your travel decisions, documentation, health precautions, insurance, and compliance with local laws.
5. Open-data simulations and stale baselines
Much of the Service is powered by open or periodically refreshed datasets (for example OpenFlights route indexes, OpenStreetMap venue tags, public climate normals, and curated border heuristics). These sources may lag live airline schedule changes, venue closures, political shifts, and immigration rule updates.
We display data baseline labels (for example "Simulation data · Verify externally") to indicate that information may be outdated. You must independently verify flights, venues, hours, addresses, and entry rules before traveling or purchasing non-refundable services.
Our Minimum Connection Time (MCT) and border intelligence features are planning estimates — not airline-published MCT tables, not legal advice, and not a guarantee against missed connections or denied boarding.
6. Content accuracy and AI-generated material
The Service may include human-written editorial content, catalog data, algorithmic estimates, and AI-generated drafts. Labels such as "Editorial dossier," "AI draft," "Illustrative plan," or "Mock" indicate different confidence levels — not a guarantee of accuracy.
Place names, addresses, hours, ratings, prices, flight times, routes, and availability may be outdated, incomplete, or incorrect. You must independently verify all information material to your trip before booking or traveling.
We do not warrant that any venue, operator, or route exists, is open, is safe, or meets your expectations.
7. Third-party partners and links
The Service may link to or display offers from independent partners (for example airlines, OTAs, and vacation packagers). We do not control and are not responsible for partner websites, pricing, availability, fulfillment, or conduct.
When you click a partner link, you leave our Service (or pass through a redirect). Partner sites have their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Affiliate compensation
We may earn commissions or other compensation when you click certain partner links and complete qualifying purchases. This does not change the price you pay the partner in most cases.
Affiliate relationships do not make us the merchant of record. Our Deal Score and Match features are comparison tools, not guarantees of the lowest price or best outcome.
See our Affiliate Disclosure for additional detail.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of applicable export, sanctions, or travel restrictions.
- Scrape, crawl, or reverse engineer the Service except as allowed by law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
- Misrepresent your identity or submit false information.
- Use the Service to provide competing travel-booking services without our written permission.
10. Intellectual property
The Service, including text, design, logos, and software, is owned by Routr or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial trip planning.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content except as permitted by law or with our prior written consent.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ROUTR AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY THIRD-PARTY BOOKING — INCLUDING MISSED FLIGHTS, MISSED CONNECTIONS, DENIED BOARDING, VISA OR ENTRY REFUSAL, CLOSED VENUES, OR FINANCIAL LOSS FROM RELYING ON SIMULATED ROUTES OR PRICES — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Routr and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your travel activities, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including suspected misuse. Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply.
Except where prohibited, you agree that disputes will be brought in the courts located in British Columbia, Canada, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract.
